Assembly was quick and painless. Been burning mostly fake logs. The open design however, has been a little problematic. Have this situated off a covered patio area in an open area. At times, the smoke just swirls out through the mesh, especially before the fake log really starts burning. The small 'chimney cap' on top just doesn't create enough draw. We keep a pedestal fan ready to turn on to keep the smoke away from us.
The metal is a little rough on the edges. This unit is light weight enough for us to move out of the way when not used. But protect your hands when you try to move it, because some spots are so rough that a cut could easily happen.
Even though we bought a cover for this, and use it to keep off the elements, there are already some rust spots appearing on the top of the fireplace. There is also some rust forming on one side of the screening. We'll probably touch up the rusting areas with... Read more
